What if they could answer their own question?
They can start to learn how to identify some of the common rocks of the Bighorn Basin at a free kids workshop to be held during the 2024 Wyoming State Mineral and Gem Show that is being held this year in Powell Wyoming
The workshop will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Park County Fairgrounds. It is free. (No show ticket is needed to attend the workshop).
The workshop is not a lecture but hands on training on how to recognize different rocks and minerals by observing and sometimes doing simple tests. They will be handling real specimens.
Because it is hands on, space is limited to 20 kids per session. There will be 2 sessions: one at 10 AM and the next at 11 AM. Each session will last 45-50 minutes.
You can secure space for your child by registering at the Powell Valley Community Education website: https://www.nwc.edu/learning/community/
Space is limited-pre-register your child.
Outside of the main hall : The free Workshop, a free climbing wall, food trucks with treats kids like.
Inside the Exhibit Hall (Kids under 12 free with a paying adult, $5 per ticket/person over 12) Lots of games, activities and giveaways inside for kids on their special day.
