Does your child like rocks?
Bring them to the 2024 Wyoming State Mineral and Gem show on May 30, 31st and June 1, 2024 at the fairgrounds in Powell Wyoming.
We welcome all pebble pups to come and visit the show. Everyday there is lots of activities and things for them to see.
There will be fossil, rock and mineral exhibits for them to see. Mr. Curt Talbot will display a large selection of fossils from Wyoming along with some of his mineral collection. Lots to see and learn.
If they have rocks that need to be identified, they can bring them to our rock identification table. We have a geologist, Doc Ellis, standing by to help them.
The Wyoming State Geological Survey will also be there with a x-ray fluorescence machine that will help identify the elements in the specimens that the kids bring to the show. They will also have information on rocks in Wyoming.
There is a separate area for kids with ongoing activities including Rock Painting; Sand Search for fossils; Pebble Art; Rock Scavenger Hunt and Rock Matching. Fun for all ages.
