Rock, Mineral, Gem and Jewelry Dealers: A variety of dealers will be offering their wares during the show. You will find many unique and hard to find rock related items.
Kid’s Area and Activities:
There is a separate area for kids with ongoing activities. Activities include: Rock Painting; Sand Search for fossils; Pebble Art; Rock Scavenger Hunt and Rock Matching.
Demonstrations:
Lapidary Arts: “Lapidary Gary” Olson of Powell, Wyoming, will demonstrate how to grind and polish stones for jewelry, known as cabochons. Gary is blind and polishes rocks all by touch.
Agate Carving: Luke Rudolph of Montana will demonstrate his method of agate carving. Luke specializes in Montana moss agates, but he carves other stones as well.
Flint Knapping: Dan Dalton of Powell, Wyoming, will demonstrate knapping with obsidian. Dan creates arrowheads, spearheads, knives, hatchets, and other knapped works of art.

Interested in Crystal Healing? Linda Thomas, one of our dealers, has been a certified crystal healer since 1988. She is the owner of Eternal Ice in Powell Wyoming and is the author of 2 books on the subject. So drop by her table. She would enjoy discussing the topic with you.
Want to know more about specific rocks, minerals or fossils like Montana Moss Agates, Wyoming Jade, variscite? Drop by our one of our dealers or educators and ask. You will find them very knowledgeable.
Have a rock or mineral you want identified? We have two ways for your to get your specimen identified. 1- Drop by the Rock ID table and see Doc Ellis (see description in Education section below). 2- Stop at the Wyoming Geological Survey table and have an elemental analysis run on your specimen with their portable XRF device (see Education Page).
Other Activities:
Daily and Show Length Raffles: Great rocks and mineral sample and jewelry available.
Silent Auction; A great variety of rocks and mineral available for bids. Some rare and one-of-a-kind specimens.
Club Showcase Competition: The public gets to vote for their favorite showcase.
Club Tables: Learn about the Shoshone Rock Club (Powell), The Cody 59ers Rock Club and the Wyoming State Mineral and Gem Society at their tables. You can purchase specimens, find out about their activities or sign up for club membership.
