Rock, Mineral, Gem and Jewelry Dealers: A variety of dealers will be offering their wares during the show. You will find many unique and hard to find rock related items.

Kid’s Area and Activities:

There is a separate area for kids with ongoing activities. Activities include Rock Painting; Sand Search for fossils; and Rock Scavenger Hunt.

Demonstrations:

Lapidary Arts: “Lapidary Gary” Olson of Powell, Wyoming, will demonstrate how to grind and polish stones for jewelry, known as cabochons. Gary is blind and polishes rocks all by touch.

Flint Knapping: Dan Dalton of Powell, Wyoming, will demonstrate knapping with obsidian. Dan creates arrowheads, spearheads, knives, hatchets, and other knapped works of art.

Other Activities:

Daily and Show Length Raffles: Great rocks and mineral sample and jewelry available.

Silent Auction; A great variety of rocks and mineral available for bids. Some rare and one-of-a-kind specimens.

Club Tables: Learn about the Shoshone Rock Club (Powell), The Cody 59ers Rock Club and the Wyoming State Mineral and Gem Society at their tables. You can purchase specimens, find out about their activities or sign up for club membership.
